Our Design Philosophy
At Thred Expressions, we believe that everyone deserves a space that not only looks beautiful but also supports the way you live, work, and feel—whether at home, in a corporate setting, a hospitality space, or a shared environment. With experience ranging from children’s nurseries and personalised residential projects to corporate offices, hospitality and shopfront interiors, to frail care facilities, we understand the specific needs, sensitivities, and logistics required to deliver each project with precision and care. We approach every project with empathy, intention, and a deep respect for how surroundings influence our energy, emotions, and productivity. Behind Thred
Sheneen Schofield: Expressionist
My journey began in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, where I was fortunate to grow up surrounded by the rich world of textiles, patterns, and textures. Creativity ran deep in my family—my grandmother had a love for stitch-work, sewing, painting, in fact all things crafting and she lovingly sewed our clothing, while my mother managed and worked in a bustling sewing room, producing work for some of the region’s most respected interior decorators. It was in that inspiring environment that I first witnessed the magic of transforming spaces, and where my passion for interior design and all things fabric was born.
As I entered the working world, I found myself repeatedly drawn back to this creative realm, even while building a career in sales. I embraced every opportunity to help friends and family style and enhance their homes—offering advice, ideas, and hands-on help whenever I could. These experiences solidified my calling, and I eventually took the leap to pursue my own path in the interior design industry.
I believe that each of us has a unique personality, and our homes should be a true reflection of that individuality—spaces that tell our stories and embody the spirit of the people who live in them. A home should feel deeply personal, filled with the elements that bring us joy, comfort, and happiness.
Today, I bring that lifelong passion, hands-on experience, and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship to every project I take on—creating spaces that are not only beautiful and functional but also meaningful and uniquely yours.
